R.O.S.E Riders of Sins Eternal by Ava Morgan-Brown #PNR @AvaMorganBrown @BookEnthuPromo

R.O.S.E
(Riders of Sins Eternal, Novella 1)
by Ava Morgan-Brown

Genres: Paranormal, Romance
Riders of Sins Eternal have only one law: Always pay your debts.

When Garrick Donovan prayed for one more chance to accomplish something in his life, he did not get what he expected. Now doomed to the Eternal Riders, an elite group of immortals destined to ride this Earth collecting souls for the Prince of Darkness, as payment for their sins. For two hundred years he has learned to keep quiet, do as he is told and abide by the only rule he has set for himself. Never love.

Alexandra Scott was in the wrong place, at the right time. Striving to become a reporter in the fast paced word of journalism, she can’t believe it when she becomes the ‘breaking’ news after a night with her best friend.

Garrick knew that he should have minded his own business instead of stopping to help. And as soon as he rescued Alexandra, he felt why. Once bound by a secret that could destroy both of them and their budding love, can Alexandra find it in her heart to stay or will Garrick once again find himself on his own?
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Alexandra dreams of becoming a respected journalist but is treated like an errand girl by her mentor. Rescued from a dangerous situation by Garrick, it seems that her knight in leather could also be her big break.

Garrick can't forget about the beautiful woman he rescued, but he has huge secrets, and keeping away might be the best way to protect her. When he learns that she plans to tell the story of her rescue, he's got to convince her that telling what she knows puts them both in danger.

There's just one problem. How do you explain to someone that you're a two hundred year old immortal warrior without sounding crazy?

I liked the concept behind this story. The characters are engaging and there is a humorous undercurrent in the writing style that kept things from getting too serious. That being said, this felt more like a serial to me than a novella; it tells the very first part of the story and has a distinct to-be-continued ending. The frequent editorial and grammar errors were distracting, but I'm curious enough about the story-line to give the series a second chance.
