Review: Catch A Ghost

Catch a Ghost (Hell or High Water, #1)Catch a Ghost by S.E. Jakes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Irresistible from start to finish!

Prophet and Tom are like fireworks. The chemistry between the two is as hot as fire, they are passionate, determined, and deadly. Equally committed to working alone, their initial partnership is forced upon them and is most accurately described as love-to-hate. The intensity between the two is destined to end in one of two ways; they will either soar to great heights or crash and burn. Each man has been tempered on the pain of their past experiences and carries the mantle of guilt with a strange sort of pride. Hiding their insecurities and doubts behind a wall of toughness, they easily accept their sexual attraction but are reluctant to admit, even to themselves, that the feelings they have for each other could potentially develop into so much more.

Mercenaries for hire, worth more dead than alive, unbelievably sexy, and with attitude to spare; they are surprisingly vulnerable at times while still maintaining their status as alpha males. The complexity of these characters simply blew me away.

A fast paced and action packed adventure that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, SE Jakes' storytelling genius lies in the ability to write characters that capture readers instantly. As the story line progresses the intensity level rises. Well developed characters, vivid word pictures, and complex emotions make this a book that will appeal to a broad reading audience. The cliffhanger ending left me desperately panting for more and a fan of Prophet and Tom for life!
